THE HOBBIT : THORIN'S MAP (Prop Replica)

Chaque grande aventure nécessite une carte au trésor et dans "Bilbo le Hobbit : Un Voyage Inattendu", la carte a été créée par Thror, grand-père de Thorin Oakenshield.

Il contient non seulement la cartographie du terrain, mais aussi des instructions détaillées. Certaines claires comme le jour, certaines masquées.
La carte de Thorin est une jolie œuvre d'art du département artistique de la société 3 Foot 7.

Elle est conçue et dessinée à la main par Daniel Reeve du département artistique de la société 3 Foot 7 qui a créé l'original pour "Bilbo le Hobbit : Un Voyage Inattendu".
Daniel a scanné sa carte originale et l'a imprimée numériquement sur un papier aquarelle de haute qualité, comme celui utilisé dans le film.
Daniel explique le choix du papier: "Cette carte est réalisée sur un papier aquarelle S&W de 190g. Une surface agréable pour la peinture, avec un grain diffus. Des précautions doivent être prises lorsque vous faites de la calligraphie sur cette surface, car cette texture peut facilement attraper la plume, ou le guider dans des directions inattendues !"

Daniel s'attaque ensuite au procédé d'usure de la carte. L'usure, c'est l'art de donnée à une réplique de l'anthenticité, lui ajoutant une histoire et la rendant plus réaliste.

Daniel applique méticuleusement chaque pli et rainure à la main, "torturant" le papier pour réaliser la réplique authentique recherchée.

Le verso de la carte est de couleur noire, à l'exception des contours des célèbres Runes de la Lune qui jouent un rôle dans l'histoire. Cela vous permet de voir les runes lorsque la carte est tenu contre la lumière ou encadrées avec un rétro-éclairage.*
Chaque carte est l'œuvre d'un seul homme et est tout à fait unique.

Sa réalisation est en effet rare et c'est une réplique comme peu en ont vu.
Disponibles en quantité strictement limitée et toujours sous réserve de disponibilité de l'artiste, La carte de Thorin sera expédiés directement de chez Weta en Nouvelle-Zélande, avec un certificat d'authenticité signé de la main de Daniel Reeve. Elle est plié dans un sac en vinyl placé dans un carton épais en guise de protection.

La carte de Thorin appartient à une série d'authentiques répliques haut de gamme du film "Bilbo le Hobbit : Un Voyage Inattendu". Toutes créées par les artisans qui ont travaillé sur le films.

Every great adventure needs a treasure map and in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the map was created by Thror, grandfather of Thorin Oakenshield.

It shows not only the lay of the land, but also detailed instructions. Some clear as day, some concealed.
Thorin's Map is an exquisite piece of art from the 3 Foot 7 Art Department.

Hand made by calligrapher and artist Daniel Reeve, who made the original prop used in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, this is an absolutely authentic replica.

Daniel has scanned his original map and digitally printed it on high-quality watercolour paper as used in the films.
Daniel explains the choice of paper: "The Map is made on 190gsm Rough S&W watercolour paper. A lovely surface for painting, with a nicely random tooth. Care must be taken when doing calligraphy on this surface, as the texture can easily catch the nib, or guide it in unintended directions!"

Daniel then commences the process of 'breaking down' the map. Breaking down is the art of giving the prop believability. Adding a history to it and making it look real.

Daniel painstakingly applies every crease and every wrinkle by hand, 'distressing' the paper to achieve an authentic looking prop replica.

The reverse of the map is coloured black, except for the outlines of the famous Moon Runes that play a part in the story. This allows you to see the runes when the map is held up against the light or framed with back lighting.*
Each individual map is the work of one man and totally unique.

Daniel Reeve's craft is indeed a rare one and this is a prop replica the likes of which are few and far between.
