Neal Adams
Neal Adams is a living legend in the comic book industry, having had legendary ‘runs’ on Batman, X-Men, Green Lantern/Green Arrow and Deadman. Adams rescued Batman from the campy TV show of the 60's, and transformed him into his present, “Avenger of the Night” persona. His run led directly to the realistic incarnation seen in “Batman Returns”, and the “The Dark Knight” movies. Recently Neal has drawn Batman Odyssey for DC and The First X-Men (a 5-issue series), for Marvel, and writing and drawing an epic graphic novel, featuring his own character, “Blood”, that is being serialized in the “Dark Horse Presents” anthology monthly.

J Scott Campbell
Campbell took the world by storm when he co-created Gen 13, and took himself to new heights when he created Danger Girl. He was highly praised for his cover work on the Amazing Spider-Man, and is one of the most sought after cover artists in the business having mastered drawing the female form as demonstrated in his best selling fairytale calendars, prints and sketchbooks. He is in constant demand from most of the comic publishers and has recently completed covers for multiple titles from DC, Marvel, Dynamite & Zenescope, including variant covers for Avengers vs X-Men, Uncanny Avengers and All New X-Men.
Mahmud Asrar
Mahmud first came to the attention of Jay Faerber which led him to work on Dynamo 5 for Image comics. This led on to She-Hulk: Cosmic Collision with Peter David, Nova, War Machine and Adventure Comics. Currently on the remarkable Supergirl as part of the new DC 52.
Jeremy Bastian
Insanely detailed illustrator and creator of the critically acclaimed Cursed Pirate Girl, Jeremy’s ornate artwork and whimsical storytelling has won him many fans. He has also worked on the Guild: Tink one-shot for Dark Horse Comics, Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard for Archaia Entertainment and the upcoming - Under the Moons of Mars: New adventures on Barsoom for Simon and Schuster.
Simone Bianchi
Simone's big break came in 2004 working on Grant Morrison’s Seven Soldier: Shining Knight and in 2005 completed his first work for Marvel illustrating covers for X-Men Unlimited. He went from strength to strength working on Green Lantern, Detective Comics, Batman, Thunderbolts, Thor and Astonishing X-Men. More recently his stint on Wolverine has brought him much critical acclaim and has brought him even more into the spotlight.
Lee Bermejo
Lee Bermejo is probably best known for his amazing work on the Joker Graphic Novel but having also worked on Daredevil, X-Men Legacy, Lex Luthor: Man of Steel with Brian Azzarello and cover artist for Hellblazer for 33 issues, he has an extensive list under his belt. One of the rising stars in comics today he is currently drawing Before Watchmen: Rorschach for DC.
Brian Bolland
Multiple Eisner-award-winning British comic artist best known as one of the definitive Judge Dredd artists and for drawing the genre defining Batman: The Killing Joke. Artist on Camelot 3000, Batman: Black and White (which he also wrote) and numerous other titles, he has contributed covers for Animal Man, Wonder Woman, The Invisibles, The Flash, Batman: Gotham Knights, Jack of Fables, Robin, Justice League of America and Zatanna. DC recently collected these covers as Cover Story: The DC art of Brian Bolland. He also writes and draws the Actress & the Bishop story from time to time. Currently Brian is the cover artist on Dial H for Heroes for DC.
Doug Braithwaite
With a career spanning over 25 years in the comic industry working on many of the industry’s flagship titles, Doug has drawn just about every major character for both Marvel and DC comics. Early career highlights include his runs on the Punisher and Green Arrow, and his work on the Garth Ennis penned Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe and Punisher Max: Mother Russia
More recent credits include Universe X and Paradise X, Secret Invasion: Thor, Wolverine Origins, Journey into Mystery, and the award winning Justice series for DC comics, as well as a notable Brave and the Bold storyline penned by David Hine, with whom he is currently working on the creator-owned series Storm Dogs for Image.
Mark Buckingham
British comic artist best known for his work on the acclaimed Marvelman (Miracleman in the US) with Neil Gaiman and for his Eisner award winning work on the superb Fables for Vertigo for which he has been the regular artist for 9 years. Other renowned works include Shade the Changing Man with Peter Milligan and Hellblazer. Some of the many Marvel titles he has worked on include Generation X, Ghost Rider 2099 and his successful run Peter Parker: Spiderman.
Mike Carey
Mike Carey
British Author and Comic book writer, who has worked at 2000AD where he created Th1rt3en and Carver Hale before moving onto DC Comics Vertigo imprint where he wrote the entire run of Eisner award nominated Lucifer as well as the second longest stint on Hellblazer. He moved onto Marvel writing the Ultimate Fantastic Four tie-ins to Secret Invasion and is the ongoing writer of X-Men which was renamed X-Men: Legacy.
For Madefire Mike is working on the Houses of the Holy and has The Steel Seraglio out from Chizine Press and a horror/fantasy novel, The Girl With All the Gifts, coming out later in the year from Orbit.
Elias Chatzoudis
Born in Athens Greece, Elias has since 2003 worked as a freelance illustrator and has collaborated with various companies like StickerChick.com, Goodys, Art Scene International, Vivartia and Arc Worldwild. His work has been published in various magazines like Maxim, Free, Sporty Jr, Klik and with his first book Digital Divas published in 2007, he broke into pin-up scene in a big way, this was quickly followed by Whoops! The Art of Elias Chatzoudis. and a third book in the works.
He has straddled the pin-up and comic market with his art adorned the variant covers of Zenescope titles including Grimm Fairy Tales, Bad Girls, Call of Wonderland, Myths & Legends, Godstorm and The 2012 Swimsuit Special.
Mike Choi
Mike Choi is a Top Cow Artist who's best know for his work on Witchblade for Top Cow, along with his work on Marvel's X-23: Target X series. He has penciled The Uncanny X-Men, also worked on the X-Force title, written by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost. He is currently providing art for both Marvel and DC. Choi is also a proficient cover artist, producing covers for many top selling titles, such as Dark Avengers, Cloak and Dagger, Dark Wolverine, Vampirella, Cyberforce/Hunter-Killer, and War of Kings. Choi was recognised by Wizard Magazine as one of their Hot 10 Artists in a 2007 issue and took part in the Marvel 09 Young Guns Initiative, which highlighted several up and coming Marvel artists.
Ian Churchill
Ian left a career in graphic design to work professionally in comics in 1994, when he was hired on the spot at a London comic convention by Marvel’s then editor-in-chief, Bob Harras. Churchill debuted on Marvel’s X-Men titles and, along with Jeph Loeb, took Cable to new heights. Churchill went on to illustrate Avengers, The Uncanny X-Men, Superman, Superman/Batman, Supergirl, Teen Titans, Hulk, Elephantmen and Churchill’s own supernatural group of heroes – The Coven. In December 2010, the first issue of his new creator-owned title Marineman launched to critical acclaim, and received an Eisner nomination for Best New Series 2010. Outside the comic book industry, Marineman has featured in various diving magazines. Churchill is currently working on The Ravagers part of the new DC 52. He lives by the beach in England and drinks far more coffee than any sane man should!
Yildiray Cinar
After his year long run on the Image title Noble Causes, he moved onto Teen Titans for DC and with that success under his belt, became regular artist on Legion of Super-Heroes in 2010 with Paul Levitz and Fury of Firestorm in 2011. He will also be pencilling a 2 issue story arc for the wildly popular new DC 52 title Earth 2, just in time for our show in February.
Peter David
Peter David is a self proclaimed “Writer of Stuff” who is perhaps best known for his 12 year stint on The Incredible Hulk, as well as Aquaman, Supergirl, Young Justice, She-Hulk, X-Factor, and Fallen Angels. He has written Star Trek comic books and novels, adapted The Incredible Hulk, Hulk, Spider-Man 1, 2 and 3, Fantastic Four, and Iron Man movies into novels, and his Television work includes, Babylon 5, Young Justice, Space Cases and Ben 10: Alien Force.
He has won multiple awards including an Eisner award in 1992.
Gabriele Dell’Otto
A Painter/Artist whose work can be seen in comics, calendars, lithographs, magazines, video games, and scientific illustrations. He got his start with Marvel in 1988 when he was hired by Marvel's Italian Division, and he quickly began to work on projects seen in Italy, Germany, and France. In 2002, after meeting Joe Quesada in France, Gabriele shot to stardom with Marvel's Secret War mini series with Brian Michael Bendis. He has since tackled numerous projects including all the covers for Marvel's Annihilation and X-Force: Sex & Violence. He is currently drawing Avenging Spider-man 14 & 15.
Gary Erskine
Gary Erskine is comic book artist living in Glasgow, who has been illustrating comic books for over twenty years and contributed character designs and storyboards for television, commercials and games development. He has worked for 2000AD illustrating Judge Dredd, Hellblazer, The Authority, The Filth with Grant Morrison and Jack Cross as well as the classic British hero Dan Dare with Garth Ennis.
Roller Grrrls is the his latest work with Anna Malady about the thrills and spills of Roller Derby on and off the track.
Carlos Ezquerra
Carlos started his career in Spain, drawing westerns and war stories for Spanish publishers. But it was In 1974 on the strength of his uncredited work for The Wizard, he was headhunted to work for the new title Battle Picture Weekly, where he remained for the next two and a half years, until he was asked to create the visuals to a new character - Judge Dredd for 2000AD, prior to its launch in 1977.
In 1978 he and John Wagner created Strontium Dog and he has worked on many other 2000AD strips including Fiends of the Eastern Front & Stainless Steel Rat. In 1982 he returned to Judge Dredd to draw The Apocalypse War, a seven-month epic which he drew in its entirety. He has continued to draw the character semi-regularly, handling the whole of Necropolis in 1990, Origins in 2006-7, and many others.
Carlos has worked on Bloody Mary, Adventures in the Rifle Brigade, War Stories, Hitman and the Preacher specials (The Good Old Boys and The Saint of Killers miniseries).
Glenn Fabry
Glenn is probably best known for drawing Slaine for 2000AD back in the 80s, and painting covers for Hellblazer and Preacher back in the 90s. More recently he’s worked for Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere, Steve Niles’ Lot 13, and the Simpsons’s Tree House of Horror, and is one of the usual gang at Mad Magazine. He is currently working on a graphic novel for Dark Horse.
David Finch
David has been working in the comic industry for nearly 20 years, starting early on in his career working for Marc Silvestri's Top Cow on a lengthy run on Cyberforce as well as Ascension. Moving to to Marvel in the 2000's he worked with Bendis on Ultimate X-Men and became a fan fave with his amazing work on Avengers/New Avengers, Moon Knight, as well as his X-Men covers, before going to DC on an exclusive contract where he is currently the artist on Batman The Dark Knight, which found him turning his hand to writing as well as illustrating. Outside of comics David has also produced design work for projects including the Watchmen film.
Alan Grant
Alan Grant first entered the comics industry in 1967 when he became an editor for DC Thompson before moving to London from Dundee in 1970. After going back to college Grant found himself back in Dundee and It was here that he met John Wagner and a writing partnership was forged. Together they penned hundreds of Judge Dredd’s weekly adventures in 2000AD. He is internationally acclaimed for stories featuring heroes like Batman, Robocop and Terminator. He is also the co-author of The Bogie Man, Scotland’s best-selling independent comic, and the recent comic incarnation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Kidnapped.
David Hine
David has written District X, Daredevil: Redemption, Silent War and Spider-Man Noir for Marvel, The FVZA and Ryder on the Storm for Radical and numerous books for DC including The Brave and The Bold, Arkham Asylum, Detective, Azrael and The Spirit. He was writer on Todd McFarlane’s Spawn for 3 years and from March 2012 took over The Darkness for Top Cow. Creator owned books include Strange Embrace, Poison Candy and The Bulletproof Coffin. Now working with Doug Braithwaite on Storm Dogs for Image Comics and Night of the Living Dead for Avatar.
Mariah Huehner
Mariah Huehner is the New York Times bestselling writer of the graphic novel True Blood: All Together Now, Anne Rice’s Servant of the Bones, Angel, Illyria: Haunted, and the upcoming Emily & The Strangers for Dark Horse Comics. She has also edited the New York Times Bestselling graphic adaption of Peter S. Beagles The Last Unicorn, Womanthology: Heroic, Womanthology: Space!, and the Eisner Award Winning Lucifer and Fables, among many others. She likes squidly octopi, pink mustaches, and storytelling.
Klaus Janson
A German-born American comic book artist, best known as an inker but also a penciller in his own right. His first work appeared in the 70’s, but is best known for his collaboration with Frank Miller on the their seminal Daredevil run from 1979-83 and for their groundbreaking work on Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.
He has also pencilled and inked for various Batman titles including Gothic with Grant Morrison, Amazing Spider-man, Avengers, The Defenders, Wolverine, Detective Comics, and Batman as well as many other DC/Marvel titles.
Bob Layton
Fan-favourite Bob Layton has written, drawn, and edited comics for most of the major comic book publishers during 30+ years in the business. Iron Man for which he is best known, Hercules, X-Factor, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Power Man and Iron Fist are just some of the books he worked on. Bob also was instrumental in the success of the Valiant universe during the 1990s where he served as a writer, artist and eventually editor-in-chief. In 2000 Bob co-founded Future Comics and most recently served as a creative director on the Iron Man 2 feature film.
David Lloyd
David is the illustrator and co-creator of V For Vendetta, with other works including Hellblazer, Aliens, Marlowe, Global Frequency, War Stories, and the acclaimed crime thriller, Kickback. In recent years he’s worked on a volume of war memoirs - Words of Stars, an Asterix collection and his first limited-edition print - The Prizefighter as well as a book on Sao Paulo. Dark Matter – a career retrospective of his past short stories which has just been published in Italy.
David also represents CARTOON CLASSROOM, an educational website that aims to centralise all information available in the UK and Ireland on the study of cartooning and sequential art.
Emanuella Luppachino
Born and raised in Rome, Emanuella left her career as biotechnologist to work in the world of comics. She first started working in Italy on the noir series L'Insonne and then moved into the US market, working on several titles: Angel and Star Trek for IDW, a Superman story on JLA 80 Page Giant for DC Comics and X-Factor for Marvel, written by Peter David and where she's had her longest run as a penciller. Currently she is working on the Valiant series Archer & Armstrong and also creates character designers for role games books and is the cover artist for several publishers in Europe.
David Mack
Multi talented comic book artist and writer, known for his creator owned work, Kabuki, published originally by Image Comics and then by the Marvel imprint ICON. He was thrust into the limelight with his work on the revamped Daredevil with Bendis and went onto drawing the covers of titled from Alias to Green Arrow and Justice League of America. He is once again working on Daredevil this time in the mini series End of Days with Klaus Janson, Bill Sienkiewicz and Brian Michael Bendis.
Kevin Maguire
Eisner-Award-Winning artist who is best known for his work on series such as Justice League, Justice League Generation Lost, Formerly Known As Justice League, L.E.G.I.O.N., Batman Confidential, Captain America and X-Men. Most recently, he worked on the latest relaunch of Doom Patrol at DC Comics and My Greatest Adventure as well as being the alternating artist with George Perez on World’s Finest for the new DC 52.
Ron Marz
Ron has been writing comics for two decades, after leaving a job in journalism when he found out that just making stuff up was a lot more fun. Marz started his career with a lengthy run on Silver Surfer for Marvel. Since then, he has worked for virtually every major publisher and compiled a long list of credits, including stints on Green Lantern for DC, Star Wars for Dark Horse, Witchblade for Top Cow, and as a staff writer for CrossGen Comics.
His most recent works include Artifacts for Top Cow, Voodoo for DC, Prophecy for Dynamite and the newly released Blackburn Burrow, the first comics project from Amazon Studios. Ron's creator-owned series include Dragon Prince for Top Cow, Samurai: Heaven and Earth, and Pantheon City at Dark Horse; and the upcoming vampire tale Shinku.
John McCrea
John has been drawing comics for decades, during that time, he has worked for every Western mainstream publisher including the big two: Marvel and DC. He has drawn Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Hulk, Spider Man, Daredevil, Wolverine, Star Wars, Judge Dredd and The Simpsons amongst others.
On the side he has worked as an illustrator in book, record and magazine publishing and design and story boarding for movies. He was up until recently drawing The Boys for Dynamite, and Deadpool for Marvel, and has a new series of Dicks (with Garth Ennis) for Avatar and Mars Attacks! (with John Layman).
Bob McLeod
Bob began his career working in the production department of Marvel Comics in 1973 on a recommendation from Neal Adams, but soon began pencilling and inking for Marvel's Crazy Magazine, doing several movie satires and the "Teen Hulk" strip.
He went on to become a top inker at Marvel and DC on many series, including The Incredible Hulk, Conan the Barbarian, The Legion of Super Heroes, Detective Comics, Wonder Woman, and The New Titans, as well as pencilling Star Wars and several Spider-Man fill-ins for Marvel.
He is however best known for co-creating The New Mutants with Chris Claremont, and has worked with Mike Zeck on the fantastic Kraven’s Last Hunt storyline in various Spider-Man titles.
Guillermo Ortego
Born and raised in Madrid, Guillermo first started inking comic books professionally after studying History at university. Part of Nutopi@ Agency, he rapidly moved into the American scene breaking into Marvel Comics on titles such as Wolverine Vs. Thor, Dark Wolverine and Wolverine: Mr. X. Then off to DC Comics with Green Arrow and JLA 80 Page Giant and most recently back to Marvel with Italian artist Emanuella Lupacchino on Peter David’s X-Factor and Valiant Comics Archer & Armstrong
George Perez
George Pérez
George began his career in 1973 as an assistant to Rich Buckler and worked his way up the food chain from Justice League of America, Flash, Avengers, Fantastic Four and then caught the spotlight as the artist on DC's big event, "Crisis on Infinite Earths." From there he was propelled to stardom.
Having also worked on Wonder Woman, Superman, Infinity Gauntlet and JLA/Avengers, George is regarded as a work horse in the industry and a perennial favourite whose work spans 5 decades.
Esad Ribic
Croatian-born artist, Esad is currently working on Thor: God of Thunder with Jason Aaron as part of Marvel Now. With over 2 decades in the comic industry mainly working for Marvel, Esad has illustrated Wolverine, Silver Surfer: Requiem, Sub-Mariner and Loki, whilst provided covers for Uncanny X-Force and the newly re-launched X-O Manowar and Daredevil.
Yannis Roumboulias
Yannis the Barbarian as he likes being called just finished his first international work “Deadly Harvest" with Arcana Comics. His strong, realistic style is filled with muscles, heroes and sexy dammes. He has collaborated with various Greek publishing houses drawing covers and art for projects like Spawn Godslayer, Syndrome and of course his own Chronicles of the Dragonphoenix!
Currently he is working with Arcana on Gene Simmons anthology project “Zipper vs Dominatrix”, due for release in February 2013.
Matteo Scalera
Matteo Scalera was born in Parma, Italy His professional career started in 2008 with the publication of Hyperkinetic, a four-issues series by Image Comics. He's also worked on Dynamo 5 and PopGun for Image Comics. Matteo also was one of the twelve winners in the first ChesterQuest, a worldwide talent research by Marvel.
In 2010 he started to work for the House of Ideas on Deadpool, with his work appearing in Deadpool Team-Up, Deadpool Corps and Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth. He is currently working on Outcast for Boom! and Secret Avengers with Rick Remender for Marvel Comics.
Tim Seeley
Writer on the critically acclaimed rural noir Revival with artist Mike Norton, artist and writer Tim Seeley also created Hack/Slash now also published by Image Comics. He has illustrated and written for a variety of comics such as Kore, Loaded Bible, New Exiles, Weapon X: First Class but is perhaps best known for his work on G.I. Joe: An American Hero, and G.I. Joe vs. Transformers & his work on Witchblade.
Bill Sienkiewicz
Eisner-award-winning and influential comic book Artist and writer whose notable works include the dynamic Elektra: Assassin with Frank Miller, New Mutants, Stray Toasters and Moon Knight. His work has ranged from Batman and Green Arrow to the Fantastic Four, The Shadow, Sandman, Superman, and numerous covers for both Marvel and DC. He has won every major comics industry award and received 2 Emmy nominations. He is once again working on Daredevil this time in the mini series End of Days with Klaus Janson, David Mack and Brian Michael Bendis.
Roy Thomas
Roy is an American comic book writer and editor, and Stan Lee’s first successor as editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics. He is possibly best known for introducing the pulp magazine hero Conan the Barbarian to American comics, with a series that added to the storyline of Robert E. Howard’s character and helped launch a sword and sorcery trend in comics.
Thomas is also known for his championing of Golden Age comic-book heroes — particularly the 1940’s superhero team the Justice Society of America — and for lengthy writing stints on Marvel's X-Men and Avengers, and DC Comics’ All-Star Squadron among other titles.
Daniel Thollin
Daniel Thollin is a New York Times Bestselling comic book artist and illustrator. He drew the short story Run Silent Run Dead for the graphic novel FUBAR Empire of the Rising Dead. The same collection of WW2/Zombie stories has also received the People's Choice Award at IGN.com.
His most recent work is the graphic novel The Evil Tree for Arcana Comics written by Erik Hendrix.
Herb Trimpe
Influential comic book artist Herbe Trimpe is best known for his work in the 1970’s on The Incredible Hulk and as being the first artist to draw Wolverine in Hulk #181.
As a Marvel mainstay he would draw nearly every starring Superhero such as Captain America, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Nick Fury, Thor, Captain Britain The Defenders, and Spider-Man, before moving onto licensed movie and TV franchises such as GI Joe, Transformers, Godzilla and Shogun Warriors.
He pencilled BPRD: The War on Frogs for Dark House more recently and still remains a fan favourite to this day
John Wagner
John Wagner is a comics writer who, alongside Pat Mills, helped revitalise British comics in the 1970s, and continues to be a leading light in the British comics industry, occasionally working in American comics. He is probably best known as the co-creator, with artist Carlos Ezquerra, of the character Judge Dredd for 2000AD, but has worked on many titles and characters including Battle Picture Weekly, Strontium Dog, Robo-Hunter and Button Man.
In the 1980s, he and co-writer Alan Grant wrote prolifically for 2000AD, Battle, Eagle, Scream! and Roy of the Rovers, and also wrote Batman for DC Comics, Batman/Judge Dredd and the British independent comic The Bogie Man. His 1997 graphic novel A History of Violence was made into a film and John continues to write for 2000AD and the Judge Dredd Megazine.
J.K. Woodward
J.K. Woodward started illustrating comics in 2003 and has worked on many titles most noticeably CSI NY, G.I. Joe Cobra, Star Trek Next Generation, BOOM! Studios Eureka, POE & Zombie Tales. When Peter David was re-launching his creator owned series Fallen Angel at IDW, J.K. was a natural choice for Peter's dark world of magic, violence and redemption.
In 2008 his painted work caught the attention of Marvel who chose him to illustrate X-men Origins: The Beast, but his most recent work on Star Trek/Doctor Who: Assimilation brought his truly amazing art style to the masses.
Chrissie Zullo
Comic artist and illustrator extraordinaire, Chrissie was recognized by an editor at the DC Talent Search at San Diego Comic Con 2008 and was brought in to work on the vertigo line including Fables, Cinderella: From Fabletown with love, Cinderella: Fables are Forever and Madam Xanadu. She is working on Womanthology for IDW and as well as drawing a cover for Dark Horse’s Creepy.

His run led directly to the realistic incarnation seen in “Batman Returns”, and the “The Dark Knight” movies. Recently Neal has drawn Batman Odyssey for DC and The First X-Men (a 5-issue series), for Marvel, and writing and drawing an epic graphic novel, featuring his own character, “Blood”, that is being serialized in the “Dark Horse Presents” anthology monthly.

Jeremy Bastian
Insanely detailed illustrator and creator of the critically acclaimed Cursed Pirate Girl, Jeremy’s ornate artwork and whimsical storytelling has won him many fans. Simone Bianchi
Simone's big break came in 2004 working on Grant Morrison’s Seven Soldier: Shining Knight and in 2005 completed his first work for Marvel illustrating covers for X-Men Unlimited. He went from strength to strength working on Green Lantern, Detective Comics, Batman, Thunderbolts, Thor and Astonishing X-Men. Lee Bermejo
Lee Bermejo is probably best known for his amazing work on the Joker Graphic Novel but having also worked on Daredevil, X-Men Legacy, Lex Luthor: Man of Steel with Brian Azzarello and cover artist for Hellblazer for 33 issues, he has an extensive list under his belt. One of the rising stars in comics today he is currently drawing Before Watchmen: Rorschach for DC.
Brian Bolland
Multiple Eisner-award-winning British comic artist best known as one of the definitive Judge Dredd artists and for drawing the genre defining Batman: The Killing Joke. Artist on Camelot 3000, Batman: Black and White (which he also wrote) and numerous other titles, he has contributed covers for Animal Man, Wonder Woman, The Invisibles, The Flash, Batman: Gotham Knights, Jack of Fables, Robin, Justice League of America and Zatanna. DC recently collected these covers as Cover Story: The DC art of Brian Bolland. He also writes and draws the Actress & the Bishop story from time to time. Currently Brian is the cover artist on Dial H for Heroes for DC.
Doug Braithwaite
With a career spanning over 25 years in the comic industry working on many of the industry’s flagship titles, Doug has drawn just about every major character for both Marvel and DC comics. Mark Buckingham
British comic artist best known for his work on the acclaimed Marvelman (Miracleman in the US) with Neil Gaiman and for his Eisner award winning work on the superb Fables for Vertigo for which he has been the regular artist for 9 years. Other renowned works include Shade the Changing Man with Peter Milligan and Hellblazer. Some of the many Marvel titles he has worked on include Generation X, Ghost Rider 2099 and his successful run Peter Parker: Spiderman.

Mike Carey
British Author and Comic book writer, who has worked at 2000AD where he created Th1rt3en and Carver Hale before moving onto DC Comics Vertigo imprint where he wrote the entire run of Eisner award nominated Lucifer as well as the second longest stint on Hellblazer. He moved onto Marvel writing the Ultimate Fantastic Four tie-ins to Secret Invasion and is the ongoing writer of X-Men which was renamed X-Men: Legacy.
For Madefire Mike is working on the Houses of the Holy and has The Steel Seraglio out from Chizine Press and a horror/fantasy novel, The Girl With All the Gifts, coming out later in the year from Orbit.
Elias Chatzoudis
Born in Athens Greece, Elias has since 2003 worked as a freelance illustrator and has collaborated with various companies like StickerChick.com, Goodys, Art Scene International, Vivartia and Arc Worldwild. His work has been published in various magazines like Maxim, Free, Sporty Jr, Klik and with his first book Digital Divas published in 2007, he broke into pin-up scene in a big way, this was quickly followed by Whoops! The Art of Elias Chatzoudis. and a third book in the works.
He has straddled the pin-up and comic market with his art adorned the variant covers of Zenescope titles including Grimm Fairy Tales, Bad Girls, Call of Wonderland, Myths & Legends, Godstorm and The 2012 Swimsuit Special.
Mike Choi
Mike Choi is a Top Cow Artist who's best know for his work on Witchblade for Top Cow, along with his work on Marvel's X-23: Target X series. He has penciled The Uncanny X-Men, also worked on the X-Force title, written by Craig Kyle and Chris Yost. He is currently providing art for both Marvel and DC. Choi is also a proficient cover artist, producing covers for many top selling titles, such as Dark Avengers, Cloak and Dagger, Dark Wolverine, Vampirella, Cyberforce/Hunter-Killer, and War of Kings. Choi was recognised by Wizard Magazine as one of their Hot 10 Artists in a 2007 issue and took part in the Marvel 09 Young Guns Initiative, which highlighted several up and coming Marvel artists.
Ian Churchill
Ian left a career in graphic design to work professionally in comics in 1994, when he was hired on the spot at a London comic convention by Marvel’s then editor-in-chief, Bob Harras. Churchill debuted on Marvel’s X-Men titles and, along with Jeph Loeb, took Cable to new heights. Churchill went on to illustrate Avengers, The Uncanny X-Men, Superman, Superman/Batman, Supergirl, Teen Titans, Hulk, Elephantmen and Churchill’s own supernatural group of heroes – The Coven. In December 2010, the first issue of his new creator-owned title Marineman launched to critical acclaim, and received an Eisner nomination for Best New Series 2010. Outside the comic book industry, Marineman has featured in various diving magazines. Churchill is currently working on The Ravagers part of the new DC 52. He lives by the beach in England and drinks far more coffee than any sane man should!
Yildiray Cinar
After his year long run on the Image title Noble Causes, he moved onto Teen Titans for DC and with that success under his belt, became regular artist on Legion of Super-Heroes in 2010 with Paul Levitz and Fury of Firestorm in 2011. He will also be pencilling a 2 issue story arc for the wildly popular new DC 52 title Earth 2, just in time for our show in February.
Peter David
Peter David is a self proclaimed “Writer of Stuff” who is perhaps best known for his 12 year stint on The Incredible Hulk, as well as Aquaman, Supergirl, Young Justice, She-Hulk, X-Factor, and Fallen Angels. He has written Star Trek comic books and novels, adapted The Incredible Hulk, Hulk, Spider-Man 1, 2 and 3, Fantastic Four, and Iron Man movies into novels, and his Television work includes, Babylon 5, Young Justice, Space Cases and Ben 10: Alien Force.
He has won multiple awards including an Eisner award in 1992.
Gabriele Dell’Otto
A Painter/Artist whose work can be seen in comics, calendars, lithographs, magazines, video games, and scientific illustrations. He got his start with Marvel in 1988 when he was hired by Marvel's Italian Division, and he quickly began to work on projects seen in Italy, Germany, and France. In 2002, after meeting Joe Quesada in France, Gabriele shot to stardom with Marvel's Secret War mini series with Brian Michael Bendis. He has since tackled numerous projects including all the covers for Marvel's Annihilation and X-Force: Sex & Violence. He is currently drawing Avenging Spider-man 14 & 15.
Gary Erskine
Gary Erskine is comic book artist living in Glasgow, who has been illustrating comic books for over twenty years and contributed character designs and storyboards for television, commercials and games development. He has worked for 2000AD illustrating Judge Dredd, Hellblazer, The Authority, The Filth with Grant Morrison and Jack Cross as well as the classic British hero Dan Dare with Garth Ennis.
Roller Grrrls is the his latest work with Anna Malady about the thrills and spills of Roller Derby on and off the track.
Carlos Ezquerra
Carlos started his career in Spain, drawing westerns and war stories for Spanish publishers. But it was In 1974 on the strength of his uncredited work for The Wizard, he was headhunted to work for the new title Battle Picture Weekly, where he remained for the next two and a half years, until he was asked to create the visuals to a new character - Judge Dredd for 2000AD, prior to its launch in 1977.
In 1978 he and John Wagner created Strontium Dog and he has worked on many other 2000AD strips including Fiends of the Eastern Front & Stainless Steel Rat. In 1982 he returned to Judge Dredd to draw The Apocalypse War, a seven-month epic which he drew in its entirety. He has continued to draw the character semi-regularly, handling the whole of Necropolis in 1990, Origins in 2006-7, and many others.
Carlos has worked on Bloody Mary, Adventures in the Rifle Brigade, War Stories, Hitman and the Preacher specials (The Good Old Boys and The Saint of Killers miniseries).
Glenn Fabry
Glenn is probably best known for drawing Slaine for 2000AD back in the 80s, and painting covers for Hellblazer and Preacher back in the 90s. More recently he’s worked for Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere, Steve Niles’ Lot 13, and the Simpsons’s Tree House of Horror, and is one of the usual gang at Mad Magazine. He is currently working on a graphic novel for Dark Horse.
David Finch
David has been working in the comic industry for nearly 20 years, starting early on in his career working for Marc Silvestri's Top Cow on a lengthy run on Cyberforce as well as Ascension. Moving to to Marvel in the 2000's he worked with Bendis on Ultimate X-Men and became a fan fave with his amazing work on Avengers/New Avengers, Moon Knight, as well as his X-Men covers, before going to DC on an exclusive contract where he is currently the artist on Batman The Dark Knight, which found him turning his hand to writing as well as illustrating. Outside of comics David has also produced design work for projects including the Watchmen film.
Alan Grant
Alan Grant first entered the comics industry in 1967 when he became an editor for DC Thompson before moving to London from Dundee in 1970. After going back to college Grant found himself back in Dundee and It was here that he met John Wagner and a writing partnership was forged. Together they penned hundreds of Judge Dredd’s weekly adventures in 2000AD. He is internationally acclaimed for stories featuring heroes like Batman, Robocop and Terminator. He is also the co-author of The Bogie Man, Scotland’s best-selling independent comic, and the recent comic incarnation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Kidnapped.
David Hine
David has written District X, Daredevil: Redemption, Silent War and Spider-Man Noir for Marvel, The FVZA and Ryder on the Storm for Radical and numerous books for DC including The Brave and The Bold, Arkham Asylum, Detective, Azrael and The Spirit. He was writer on Todd McFarlane’s Spawn for 3 years and from March 2012 took over The Darkness for Top Cow. Creator owned books include Strange Embrace, Poison Candy and The Bulletproof Coffin. Now working with Doug Braithwaite on Storm Dogs for Image Comics and Night of the Living Dead for Avatar.
Mariah Huehner
Mariah Huehner is the New York Times bestselling writer of the graphic novel True Blood: All Together Now, Anne Rice’s Servant of the Bones, Angel, Illyria: Haunted, and the upcoming Emily & The Strangers for Dark Horse Comics. She has also edited the New York Times Bestselling graphic adaption of Peter S. Beagles The Last Unicorn, Womanthology: Heroic, Womanthology: Space!, and the Eisner Award Winning Lucifer and Fables, among many others. She likes squidly octopi, pink mustaches, and storytelling.
Klaus Janson
A German-born American comic book artist, best known as an inker but also a penciller in his own right. His first work appeared in the 70’s, but is best known for his collaboration with Frank Miller on the their seminal Daredevil run from 1979-83 and for their groundbreaking work on Batman: The Dark Knight Returns.
He has also pencilled and inked for various Batman titles including Gothic with Grant Morrison, Amazing Spider-man, Avengers, The Defenders, Wolverine, Detective Comics, and Batman as well as many other DC/Marvel titles.
Bob Layton
Fan-favourite Bob Layton has written, drawn, and edited comics for most of the major comic book publishers during 30+ years in the business. Iron Man for which he is best known, Hercules, X-Factor, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America, Power Man and Iron Fist are just some of the books he worked on. Bob also was instrumental in the success of the Valiant universe during the 1990s where he served as a writer, artist and eventually editor-in-chief. In 2000 Bob co-founded Future Comics and most recently served as a creative director on the Iron Man 2 feature film.
David Lloyd
David is the illustrator and co-creator of V For Vendetta, with other works including Hellblazer, Aliens, Marlowe, Global Frequency, War Stories, and the acclaimed crime thriller, Kickback. In recent years he’s worked on a volume of war memoirs - Words of Stars, an Asterix collection and his first limited-edition print - The Prizefighter as well as a book on Sao Paulo. Dark Matter – a career retrospective of his past short stories which has just been published in Italy.
David also represents CARTOON CLASSROOM, an educational website that aims to centralise all information available in the UK and Ireland on the study of cartooning and sequential art.
Emanuella Luppachino
Born and raised in Rome, Emanuella left her career as biotechnologist to work in the world of comics. She first started working in Italy on the noir series L'Insonne and then moved into the US market, working on several titles: Angel and Star Trek for IDW, a Superman story on JLA 80 Page Giant for DC Comics and X-Factor for Marvel, written by Peter David and where she's had her longest run as a penciller. Currently she is working on the Valiant series Archer & Armstrong and also creates character designers for role games books and is the cover artist for several publishers in Europe.
David Mack
Multi talented comic book artist and writer, known for his creator owned work, Kabuki, published originally by Image Comics and then by the Marvel imprint ICON. He was thrust into the limelight with his work on the revamped Daredevil with Bendis and went onto drawing the covers of titled from Alias to Green Arrow and Justice League of America. He is once again working on Daredevil this time in the mini series End of Days with Klaus Janson, Bill Sienkiewicz and Brian Michael Bendis.
Kevin Maguire
Eisner-Award-Winning artist who is best known for his work on series such as Justice League, Justice League Generation Lost, Formerly Known As Justice League, L.E.G.I.O.N., Batman Confidential, Captain America and X-Men. Most recently, he worked on the latest relaunch of Doom Patrol at DC Comics and My Greatest Adventure as well as being the alternating artist with George Perez on World’s Finest for the new DC 52.
Ron Marz
Ron has been writing comics for two decades, after leaving a job in journalism when he found out that just making stuff up was a lot more fun. Marz started his career with a lengthy run on Silver Surfer for Marvel. Since then, he has worked for virtually every major publisher and compiled a long list of credits, including stints on Green Lantern for DC, Star Wars for Dark Horse, Witchblade for Top Cow, and as a staff writer for CrossGen Comics.
His most recent works include Artifacts for Top Cow, Voodoo for DC, Prophecy for Dynamite and the newly released Blackburn Burrow, the first comics project from Amazon Studios. Ron's creator-owned series include Dragon Prince for Top Cow, Samurai: Heaven and Earth, and Pantheon City at Dark Horse; and the upcoming vampire tale Shinku.
John McCrea
John has been drawing comics for decades, during that time, he has worked for every Western mainstream publisher including the big two: Marvel and DC. He has drawn Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Hulk, Spider Man, Daredevil, Wolverine, Star Wars, Judge Dredd and The Simpsons amongst others.
On the side he has worked as an illustrator in book, record and magazine publishing and design and story boarding for movies. He was up until recently drawing The Boys for Dynamite, and Deadpool for Marvel, and has a new series of Dicks (with Garth Ennis) for Avatar and Mars Attacks! (with John Layman).
Bob McLeod
Bob began his career working in the production department of Marvel Comics in 1973 on a recommendation from Neal Adams, but soon began pencilling and inking for Marvel's Crazy Magazine, doing several movie satires and the "Teen Hulk" strip.
He went on to become a top inker at Marvel and DC on many series, including The Incredible Hulk, Conan the Barbarian, The Legion of Super Heroes, Detective Comics, Wonder Woman, and The New Titans, as well as pencilling Star Wars and several Spider-Man fill-ins for Marvel.
He is however best known for co-creating The New Mutants with Chris Claremont, and has worked with Mike Zeck on the fantastic Kraven’s Last Hunt storyline in various Spider-Man titles.
Guillermo Ortego
Born and raised in Madrid, Guillermo first started inking comic books professionally after studying History at university. Part of Nutopi@ Agency, he rapidly moved into the American scene breaking into Marvel Comics on titles such as Wolverine Vs. Thor, Dark Wolverine and Wolverine: Mr. X. Then off to DC Comics with Green Arrow and JLA 80 Page Giant and most recently back to Marvel with Italian artist Emanuella Lupacchino on Peter David’s X-Factor and Valiant Comics Archer & Armstrong
George Perez
George Pérez
George began his career in 1973 as an assistant to Rich Buckler and worked his way up the food chain from Justice League of America, Flash, Avengers, Fantastic Four and then caught the spotlight as the artist on DC's big event, "Crisis on Infinite Earths." From there he was propelled to stardom.
Having also worked on Wonder Woman, Superman, Infinity Gauntlet and JLA/Avengers, George is regarded as a work horse in the industry and a perennial favourite whose work spans 5 decades.
Esad Ribic
Croatian-born artist, Esad is currently working on Thor: God of Thunder with Jason Aaron as part of Marvel Now. With over 2 decades in the comic industry mainly working for Marvel, Esad has illustrated Wolverine, Silver Surfer: Requiem, Sub-Mariner and Loki, whilst provided covers for Uncanny X-Force and the newly re-launched X-O Manowar and Daredevil.
Yannis Roumboulias
Yannis the Barbarian as he likes being called just finished his first international work “Deadly Harvest" with Arcana Comics. His strong, realistic style is filled with muscles, heroes and sexy dammes. He has collaborated with various Greek publishing houses drawing covers and art for projects like Spawn Godslayer, Syndrome and of course his own Chronicles of the Dragonphoenix!
Currently he is working with Arcana on Gene Simmons anthology project “Zipper vs Dominatrix”, due for release in February 2013.
Matteo Scalera
Matteo Scalera was born in Parma, Italy His professional career started in 2008 with the publication of Hyperkinetic, a four-issues series by Image Comics. He's also worked on Dynamo 5 and PopGun for Image Comics. Matteo also was one of the twelve winners in the first ChesterQuest, a worldwide talent research by Marvel.
In 2010 he started to work for the House of Ideas on Deadpool, with his work appearing in Deadpool Team-Up, Deadpool Corps and Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth. He is currently working on Outcast for Boom! and Secret Avengers with Rick Remender for Marvel Comics.
Tim Seeley
Writer on the critically acclaimed rural noir Revival with artist Mike Norton, artist and writer Tim Seeley also created Hack/Slash now also published by Image Comics. He has illustrated and written for a variety of comics such as Kore, Loaded Bible, New Exiles, Weapon X: First Class but is perhaps best known for his work on G.I. Joe: An American Hero, and G.I. Joe vs. Transformers & his work on Witchblade.
Bill Sienkiewicz
Eisner-award-winning and influential comic book Artist and writer whose notable works include the dynamic Elektra: Assassin with Frank Miller, New Mutants, Stray Toasters and Moon Knight. His work has ranged from Batman and Green Arrow to the Fantastic Four, The Shadow, Sandman, Superman, and numerous covers for both Marvel and DC. He has won every major comics industry award and received 2 Emmy nominations. He is once again working on Daredevil this time in the mini series End of Days with Klaus Janson, David Mack and Brian Michael Bendis.
Roy Thomas
Roy is an American comic book writer and editor, and Stan Lee’s first successor as editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics. He is possibly best known for introducing the pulp magazine hero Conan the Barbarian to American comics, with a series that added to the storyline of Robert E. Howard’s character and helped launch a sword and sorcery trend in comics.
Thomas is also known for his championing of Golden Age comic-book heroes — particularly the 1940’s superhero team the Justice Society of America — and for lengthy writing stints on Marvel's X-Men and Avengers, and DC Comics’ All-Star Squadron among other titles.
Daniel Thollin
Daniel Thollin is a New York Times Bestselling comic book artist and illustrator. He drew the short story Run Silent Run Dead for the graphic novel FUBAR Empire of the Rising Dead. The same collection of WW2/Zombie stories has also received the People's Choice Award at IGN.com.
His most recent work is the graphic novel The Evil Tree for Arcana Comics written by Erik Hendrix.
Herb Trimpe
Influential comic book artist Herbe Trimpe is best known for his work in the 1970’s on The Incredible Hulk and as being the first artist to draw Wolverine in Hulk #181.
As a Marvel mainstay he would draw nearly every starring Superhero such as Captain America, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Nick Fury, Thor, Captain Britain The Defenders, and Spider-Man, before moving onto licensed movie and TV franchises such as GI Joe, Transformers, Godzilla and Shogun Warriors.
He pencilled BPRD: The War on Frogs for Dark House more recently and still remains a fan favourite to this day
John Wagner
John Wagner is a comics writer who, alongside Pat Mills, helped revitalise British comics in the 1970s, and continues to be a leading light in the British comics industry, occasionally working in American comics. He is probably best known as the co-creator, with artist Carlos Ezquerra, of the character Judge Dredd for 2000AD, but has worked on many titles and characters including Battle Picture Weekly, Strontium Dog, Robo-Hunter and Button Man.
In the 1980s, he and co-writer Alan Grant wrote prolifically for 2000AD, Battle, Eagle, Scream! and Roy of the Rovers, and also wrote Batman for DC Comics, Batman/Judge Dredd and the British independent comic The Bogie Man. His 1997 graphic novel A History of Violence was made into a film and John continues to write for 2000AD and the Judge Dredd Megazine.
J.K. Woodward
J.K. Woodward started illustrating comics in 2003 and has worked on many titles most noticeably CSI NY, G.I. Joe Cobra, Star Trek Next Generation, BOOM! Studios Eureka, POE & Zombie Tales. When Peter David was re-launching his creator owned series Fallen Angel at IDW, J.K. was a natural choice for Peter's dark world of magic, violence and redemption.
In 2008 his painted work caught the attention of Marvel who chose him to illustrate X-men Origins: The Beast, but his most recent work on Star Trek/Doctor Who: Assimilation brought his truly amazing art style to the masses.
Chrissie Zullo
Comic artist and illustrator extraordinaire, Chrissie was recognized by an editor at the DC Talent Search at San Diego Comic Con 2008 and was brought in to work on the vertigo line including Fables, Cinderella: From Fabletown with love, Cinderella: Fables are Forever and Madam Xanadu. She is working on Womanthology for IDW and as well as drawing a cover for Dark Horse’s Creepy.
